Complication

Annual Calendar

Knows every month length except February.

What it does

Tracks day, date and month, and automatically skips the 31st in 30-day months — so it stays correct all year without intervention. It has no leap-year mechanism, so it needs one manual correction at the end of February.

How to read it

Read day, date and month from their windows or sub-dials. Advance the date once at the start of March each year. Avoid setting it during the hours around midnight, while the calendar mechanism is engaged.

Impact on value

Positive — a real complication at a fraction of a perpetual calendar's cost, which is exactly why Patek Philippe patented it in 1996.
