The story

Einstein's tonneau-shaped gold Longines, engraved to him and presented in Los Angeles in 1931, sold at auction in 2008 for $596,000 — a record for any Longines. The professor was a repeat customer: his Longines pocket watch is preserved at the Historical Museum in Bern.
